Children's art featured at Hockaday

| March 6, 2014 10:42 AM

The Hockaday Museum of Art is now offering its “Montana Wild and Wonderful” children’s art exhibition. This year’s annual exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area and the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Montana territory. The theme encourages imaginative artwork of wildlife, the wilderness and the historic Wild West by kindergarten through eighth-grade students.

This exhibition of two- and three-dimensional artwork was open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade who are students in museum member schools, who take Hockaday art classes, and or whose family has a family-level museum membership.

All the artwork has been created during the current school year.

The opening reception for the show will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m., with free admission to the public. Children through grade receive year-round free admission to the Hockaday Museum of Art.

The Hockaday Museum of Art is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave East. For more information, please visit www.HockadayMuseum.org or call 406-755-5268.
