Long-ago land sale haunts man

An Echo Chalet Drive resident contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and reported another man threatened to torture and kill him and his family because he had sold the man land several years ago and that the value was not what he thought it should be. The man initially made a comment a year ago saying he had dreams of the resident and his family being killed, and that a day ago the man had told one of his coworkers that he wanted to kill the resident and his family.

A Big Mountain security officer reported his stepson stole his security pass and used it at the mountain, but other security officers caught him, took the pass and kicked him off the mountain.

A Hemler Creek Drive resident reported the home had been burglarized four days earlier, but that a roommate had not called it in because none of his belongings were taken, despite the fact that three of the resident’s guns were stolen.

A woman reported that a man tried to break her arm and that she scratched him trying to get away from him when he tried to take her phone. The man called and said she was supposed to be moving out and that she grabbed his face, causing a cut, and tried to punch and hit him.

A Pot Hole Drive man wanted to know why there was not more law enforcement presence in the Olney area “because of the idiot problem.”

A Montana 40 West 3-month-old was taken to the hospital after reportedly falling and hitting its head. Bleeding was under control, but the baby reportedly suffered a dented head.

A man and woman were arrested after being seen rooting around in a vehicle with broken windows on U.S. 2 East in Hungry Horse.

An employee at a U.S. 2 East business reported that a woman with whom he had an altercation several months prior threatened him outside the business.

A Solberg Drive dog owner was cited after a pair of small dogs killed a neighbor’s chickens.

A man in a pickup truck hit a telephone pole on Jensen Road, then fled.


Kalispell Police Department officers were unable to locate a man who showed up at a Third Avenue West house with blood all over his hands. When asked by his friend at the house why his hands were bloody, he said “I told them if they pushed me I would do something bad.”

A frightened East Idaho Street woman reported receiving texts from a 37-year-old man threatening to kill her, her children and her mother, and also claimed people were watching her.

A spooked Rimrock Court woman reported a man kept calling her phone and yelling at her in a creepy voice to open her door and go outside, and was also using profanities.

A large group of youths reported hanging out at the north end of a U.S. 2 West property were told to clean up their mess and move along.

An inmate at the county jail reported she had left her purse with a friend and that friend was now using her credit card.

A mouthy man was overheard on Third Avenue West arranging a drug deal.


A motorist on Masters Court called the Whitefish Police Department for help, reporting she could not let up on her brakes or she would slide into the train tracks. She was assisted by an officer.

A manic motorist with booming bass was reported racing around a U.S. 93 South parking lots despite the front bumper dragging underneath the car.

A woman reported she had been assaulted by a pair of men a couple of nights ago, but that she didn’t initially report it because she had been arrested for disorderly conduct.


A excommunicated ex-husband was reported to the Columbia Falls Police Department for violating a restraining order by sending his ex-wife text and Facebook messages.

The owner of a parking-averse pickup truck was contacted to move the vehicle after it rolled down an Eighth Street West driveway and into the street.

A person was asked to leave a Ninth Street West business for the evening after being reported for harassing customers.


The northbound lane of Montana 37 was closed for about a half an hour Thursday afternoon after a rockslide nine miles north of the Libby Dam.
