There were two letters on the front page of the Feb. 23 Montana Perspectives section. Though very different, they both represent exactly what a newspaper should do, educate the public to a difficult yet important issue.
Regarding the Ukraine, the author was correct, as Americans we need to support people’s struggles for democratic reform even if oil or economic interests are not involved (as Clinton led us to do in Kosovo).
In the same light, accept that others may not like our religious demonstration, as in a statue of Jesus. The very same Christian beliefs are represented here: Accept and love our neighbor; treat or aid them as we would like to be treated.
