Boys behaving badly in the Flathead

The Kalispell Police Department dealt with several calls regarding youths gone wild on Friday and Saturday.

Youths were asked to move along after being reported having sex in a vehicle parked in a field off Second Avenue West. The resident expressed a belief that no one should be in the field as there are always youths there drinking alcohol and “doing illegal things.”

Officers were unable to locate a group of boys asking people to buy them alcohol on Third Avenue East North or another group of youths reported running up and down Airport Road banging on doors.

A pair of boys were turned over to one of their fathers after being caught on Fifth Avenue West violating curfew.

The manager of a U.S. 93 South business called police after receiving a call from a woman who said “do you see propane to make a bomb... oops, I mean for my barbecue?”

A pair of men reportedly having a disagreement on First Avenue East turned out to actually be a pedestrian checking on a bicyclist who had just nearly been run over.

A concerned passerby reported a pair of men who got out of their trucks and were yelling back and forth, threatening to kill one another.

Someone entered a Seventh Street West home through the window of a child’s room and stole a computer.

An opiate painkiller was stolen from a person’s room on U.S. 93 South after that person left a door open.

A woman was cited and released on West Montana Street for drug possession.

A pair of people were seen fighting in a U.S. 93 South parking lot.


An East Lakeshore Drive hotel owner called the Whitefish Police Department with questions about a homeless person that had been there for seven hours.

A man was arrested for drunk driving after rear-ending another motorist on Wisconsin Avenue.

A man was arrested for drunk driving during a traffic stop on U.S. 93 South.

A boy was arrested for partner or family member assault after hitting his mother in the face and choking her, also breaking a phone by throwing it into a wall.

A grandmother reported her grandchild was being harassed at school.

A woman was arrested for disorderly conduct on Talbot Road.


Fallen rock temporarily impeded traffic on U.S. 2 near West Glacier Saturday evening, leading the Montana Department of Transportation to encourage travelers not to stop on the shoulder in the Goat Lick area as it was considered a safety hazard.
