Golda Marie Mehlin, 93

Golda Marie Mehlin, 93, of Kalispell passed away peacefully at Heritage Place on Thursday, March 6, 2014.  

She was born on July 22, 1920, to Alberta May (Feasel) and Jacob J. Goodhart on a farm northwest of Humboldt, Neb. She was the youngest of six children.

While growing up on the farm, she attended Pine Ridge Country School followed by graduation from Humboldt High in May 1938.  

On Dec. 16, 1939, she was united in marriage to Arnold Jun in St. Joseph, Mo., later divorced. Children, Phyllis Kay and Roger Lynn, were born to this union. On Oct. 26, 1957, she married C.L. Mehlin in Rockport, Mo., where they owned and operated a small business. Through the years this couple engaged in the dry cleaning business in Nebraska and Susanville, Calif. Then in the 1960s, Golda entered into law enforcement in Wyoming. She did dispatching while training and scheduling in Riverton and Torrington, Wyo. Golda retired as a communications sergeant in 1986. She and her husband moved to Montana to be near daughter and family.

She is survived by her son, Roger and wife, Laureen, of Otoe, Neb.; son-in-law, Gary Bray of Kalispell; grandchildren, Paul and wife, Susan Bray and their children, Julia and Josh, of Kalispell; Ken and wife, Vonni Bray and their son, Parker, of Laurel; Joel and wife, Stacey Bray and their daughter, Violette of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Jacob and wife, Ruth Jun and their children, Danny, Devon and Joselyn of Indiana; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh of Kansas; as well as neighbors and many friends at The Elms apartments in Kalispell.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Phyllis Jun Bray; brothers, Ray Vernon Goodhart, Dale and wife Ruth Goodhart, Leo and wife Una Goodhart, and their son Jon Goodhart, Merle and his wife Bernice Goodhart; sister, Daisy and husband Harold Smith; and granddaughter, Denise Jun.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell. A viewing will begin one hour prior to the service.
