Jon Lee Swinehart Sr., 66

Jon Lee Swinehart Sr., 66, passed away Feb. 14, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb., after an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Emmett, Idaho, to Arnold and Dorthé Swinehart.

He was a maintenance technician for Coleman Powermates. In his early years he worked for Glacier Pipe and Concrete. Jon was a chief electronics engineer and also owned and operated his own electronics repair shop.

Jon is survived by his wife, Peggy Burson Swinehart of Kearney; mother, Dorthé L. Swinehart of Kalispell; sons, Jon L. Swinehart Jr. and family of Montana, and Michael Swinehart of New York, N.Y.; daughter, Jenny Swinehart, and spouse Danny Carpenter, and their children, Dalton Carpenter of Glendive, and Amanda Swinehart of Missoula; sister, Dawn Hatten, of Klamath Falls, Ore., and her children; and stepsons, Mike Bierme and Adam Clevenger of Kearney.

Services were held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney. A memorial service for Jon will take place in Kalispell and will be announced at a later date.
