Third crash victim dies: Head-on crash occurred near Lolo Feb. 22
MISSOULA — A 47-year-old Florence woman is the third person to die as a result of a Feb. 22 head-on crash on U.S. 93 south of Lolo.
Missoula County sheriff’s spokeswoman Paige Pavalone says 47-year-old Pam Okon died Tuesday morning of injuries suffered in the crash.
Okon’s 9-year-old daughter, Meghan, died of her injuries the day after the crash while the driver of the other vehicle, 23-year-old Hanna Capen of Missoula, died at the scene.
The Montana Highway Patrol says Capen lost control of her pickup truck on the icy road, it crossed the center line and collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Okon.
Okon’s other daughter, Morghan, spent just over a week in the hospital.
