Common ground: Stop war machine

As a left-leaning liberal, (tempered by deep blue-collar experience and a year in Vietnam,) I never expected to agree with Anne Bukacek, but I detect a meeting place for right and left. The military/industrial cabal loves the wartime economy and we enter one war after another with little gain except for Halliburton and the like, who benefit so greatly by our privatized armies.

The arms manufacturers are working our Congress people in virtually every state, including SKC Industries right near here, often shoving armaments at the military whether they want them or not.  Are you ready for the wailing soon to commence as we try to cut back the military budgets or close bases?

Virtually every being on earth will fight to protect their home and family, but foreign wars just waste our money and men. We need to stop the madness.

On the other hand, P. David Myerowitz, never missing a chance to bash our sitting president, seems to think we should have interfered in Syria, Iran and the Ukraine. Are you kidding me? Just because WWII helped bring the country out of the Depression doesn’t mean it works that way now. Remember that armaments either just sit or get dumped on foreign shores. Build a car or tractor and the money rolls through many hands.

Enough already.
