Horrified by what happened to clinic

I feel the need to write and express my horror at the recent destruction and vandalism at All Families Healthcare clinic. This kind of senseless violence cannot be accepted in our community. Susan Cahill has been a strong and caring advocate for women’s health. She is the least judgmental person I’ve ever met and the respect she has for her patients is boundless. She provides the kind of health care we wish all doctors would give. She listens, never rushes through appointments, and gives her clients the assurance that they are being heard.

For someone to terrorize Susan in such a horrific and personal way should give us all something to think about. Is this how we want our town to be seen? As a place where we allow people to be tormented for only doing their jobs? As a community who allows this kind of harassment? As a place where extreme factions are above the law and given free rein to persecute? I hope All Families Healthcare will reopen because a lot of people will lose their health-care provider, but I will understand if Susan decides she can no longer live with this distress.

What a sad day for our wonderful valley. What a sad day for each one of us. Is this horrible intolerance what we have become?

And remember this. The next time it might be YOU who they disagree with. It might be YOU who is bullied and victimized. And if you think that could never happen… think again.
