Two sentenced for felony DUI
Two 33-year-old men were sentenced last week after pleading guilty to felony drunk driving.
District Judge Robert Allison sentenced Vassar Rach of Evergreen and David Barrett of Kila to 13 months with the Montana Department of Corrections for placement in the Warm Springs Addiction Treatment and Change program. They also received four years suspended with the Corrections Department.
The men also ordered to pay $500 fines while Rach has to pay a $400 public defender fee and complete 100 hours of community service.
Rach was arrested April 5, 2013, after he was stopped by a Montana Highway Patrol trooper because his license plate was bent up under his vehicle’s grille. He failed field sobriety tests.
Barrett was arrested after a two-vehicle accident on July 11, 2013. He failed a field sobriety test and an open case of Kokanee beer was in plain view in his vehicle.
