No one hurt when gun goes off
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a U.S. 2 East house in Martin City shortly after 2 a.m. Friday after a struggle over a gun.
Sheriff Chuck Curry said all the people involved were drunk and that the struggle began after one man picked up the gun while saying he was suicidal. The gun went off twice during the struggle, but no one was struck. The suicidal man was taken to the hospital for a mental-health evaluation.
A pair of residents in Kalispell and Whitefish reported an Asian-sounding man making threatening phone calls.
The Whitefish resident said the man knew his address and said he was with al-Qaida and was going to blow up his house that night. He asked for an investigative subpoena to be served on the telephone company, but the county attorney’s office reported that was not possible in his case. The frightened man was told to block the number.
A Halfmoon Flats Road business owner in West Glacier reported receiving a disgusting email from a job applicant after putting an ad for the position in a newspaper and wanting to know how to prevent it. She was told how to block future emails from the person.
A not-so-peaceful pair of neighbors on Peaceful Drive in Bigfork drew a law enforcement response when one reported the other keeps throwing batteries and firecrackers into her yard as part of ongoing personal conflicts that started around Christmas.
Several people in a red pickup truck were reported for chopping down five trees on Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks land.

A man who had just gotten out of the hospital for having an altered state due to drug use was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after getting into an argument with his father, who followed him from the hospital.
A nervous North Main Street business employee reported a man matching the description of a suspect in recent robberies came in with a pistol in his pocket, also driving a vehicle similar to the one reportedly involved in the robberies.
A man so drunk he nearly stepped in front of a bus on South Main Street was reported to police after he also ran into a light pole. A pair of passers-by were seen helping him and he was gone by the time an officer drove by a second time.
A fast firefighter was reported driving 50 miles per hour in a Fifth Avenue West school zone. A dispatcher made contact with the alleged offender, who said he didn’t believe he got over 30 miles per hour.
Officers arrested a woman after she and her roommate, both drunk, got into an argument at their Seventh Avenue East residence with each accusing the other of stealing their medication.
