Columbia Falls’ Jared Trinastich, Winter Kemppainen and Cydney Finberg and Libby’s Jared Winslow were all named to the Class A all-state basketball teams on Thursday.

Three boys and girls were named to the all-state teams from Northwestern A when all-conference teams were announced, with Frenchtown’s Vanessa Stavish and John Chapman also making the list.

Trinastich, a 6-foot-5 forward for the Wildcats, averaged 13.7 points and nine rebounds a game in his senior season, helping Columbia Falls to the Class A state championship. He led the conference in blocked shots and was in the top 10 in points, rebounds, assists and steals.

Winslow, a 6-1 senior wing for the Loggers, shot nearly 38 percent from behind the arc to lead the conference, averaging 18.5 points a game, trailing only Chapman in conference. He was the fifth leading scorer in the state this season, despite playing the entire season with a torn ligament in his elbow.

Kemppainen, a 5-11 forward for the Columbia Falls, averaged 11.4 points and eight rebounds a game to help the Wildkats to a third place finish in Class A. The state’s leading rebounder, she pulled in 145 boards this season, averaging more than eight a game.

Finberg made the all-state team as a freshman, leading the state in assists with 4.3 a game as well as coming in the top 10 in conference in points, rebounds, blocks and steals.

Each of the all-state selections were also named to the first team all-conference. Joining the girls were Columbia Falls’ Haley Belgarde and Ciera Finberg and Frenchtown’s Vanessa Stavish and Kayla Blood.
