Officer crawls to woman's rescue
A Columbia Falls Police Department officer went below and beyond the call of duty Monday evening, taking off his gear and going through a crawlspace from one Martha Road apartment into another after no one heard from the neighbor for several days. The officer located the woman, who was subsequently transported to the hospital.
A drunk and stumbling man reported getting inside of and turning on his vehicle was found by an officer to be sitting in the passenger seat, just getting warmed up while he waited on a sober driver.
An orange vest, a first-aid kit and a leaking can of pepper spray were found on a trail.

A pit bull was taken to the animal shelter after being caught running loose on U.S. 2 West in Marion. The owner was cited for having a dog at large, the fifth time she had been cited for the offense.
Someone broke into a Third Avenue East home through a window and stole a laptop, camera, and Nintendo DS portable video game system.
About 25 gallons of diesel fuel was siphoned out of a delivery vehicle at an East Idaho Street business.

A Bigfork man on Foothill Road suspected his neighbors were harassing him about his dogs after discovering a camera aimed at his bedroom. It was determined that the camera was a game camera with a 50-foot visual field, which was not illegal for the neighbors to have or use on their property.
People were reported sitting in a vehicle for more than half an hour, snorting something, then wiping their faces off. A deputy was unable to locate the suspicious snorters.
