Glacier Bank has donated a 30-acre strip of wetland property along the Flathead River near Bigfork to Montana Outdoor Legacy Foundation.

The foundation, formerly known as the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Foundation, is working toward potential conveyance of the property to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which manages an adjacent waterfowl production area.

The donated land is north of the waterfowl production area on the east side of the Flathead River on the north shore of Flathead Lake.

Jane Ratzlaff, a spokeswoman for the foundation, said the donated land will be accessible either from the waterfowl production area or by watercraft on the river.

The foundation works to maintain and improve access to public lands in Montana, and Glacier Bank’s management team supports that mission, according to a press release.

“Outdoor activities are at the core of Montana values and economic growth,” said Dennis Beams of Glacier Bank. “We are delighted to be able to provide one more point of access to enjoying the quality of life that makes Montana a special place to live and do business.”
