It's good thing that Walsh is above 'politics as usual'
I am certainly glad that the Democrats, including the brilliant and totally honest Senate majority leader Harry Reid and Gov. Bullock, didn’t conspire with the appointment of John Walsh to fill Baucus’s Senate seat just so Walsh could get a little name recognition for this year’s Senate race, presumably against Republican Congressman Steve Daines.
For anyone doubting the motivation behind this appointment, one merely has to observe the remarkable speed with which the new senator introduced his first bill — one month after his appointment! And the bill... hold your Stetson... is to restrict NSA and FBI snooping! WOW! What a guy!
In less than a month this brilliant politician is able to review all pertinent law and programs that spy agencies have developed over 12 years since 9/11 and been able to craft a bill that will restrict this behavior while senators and congressmen on both sides of the aisle have been complaining and trying to rein in such behavior for months if not years.
I’m sure Mr. Walsh is a decent fellow, but it gets really tiring when everything politicians do smells just a little bit like old garbage.
