A 22-year-old Kalispell man has admitted having inappropriate contact with a 13-year-old girl over a phone.

James Polston pleaded guilty March 21 in Flathead District Court to felony sexual abuse of children.

A court document states Polston started texting with the girl before eventually texting her about pictures of herself, eventually asking her for a topless picture.

He also had text conversations with the girl involving sexual topics.

Polston previously admitted knowing she was 13, asking her for sexual pictures and sending her a sexual picture of himself and a proposition for sex.

The victim’s father reported the texts and photos to police after discovering them on his daughter’s phone.

Polston now faces between four years and life in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 when he is sentenced May 8. He is currently released after posting a $5,000 bond.
