MISSOULA — Glacier was on the offensive versus Missoula Sentinel, banging out 10 hits and scoring runs in every inning but the fifth for a 13-2 Western AA softball victory Thursday afternoon.

Katie McHugh went 3 for 3 for the Wolfpack. Kayla Russell and Ali Williams had two hits each.

“It was a nice game to start the day with,” Glacier coach Andy Fors said.

“We had an opportunity to get the bats going. I was happy with our offensive production and defensively we were solid as well. It was nice to see our team be able to do that.”

Against Missoula Big Sky, Glacier came up short, losing 8-3.

Taylor Riggles and Tacey Howe had two hits each for Glacier.

“Macey Newbary was pitching for them and she does a nice job throwing hard and keep our hitters off balance,” Fors said.

“We couldn’t come up with that timely hit.”

Fors said Big Sky also backed Newbary up with solid defense.

Glacier is back in action Saturday hosting Helena High and Helena Capital at noon and 2 p.m., respectively, at Kidsports Complex.
