The Flathead County Animal Shelter and Flathead Shelter Friends remind the community of “Be Kind to Animals Week” May 4 to 10.

Kindness to animals can include acts of compassion and care.

One act of kindness is to keep pets identified with current I.D. tags, license and microchipped. This is the best way to help ensure a lost pet is returned home.

Dog licenses can be purchased at the Flathead County Animal Shelter at 225 Cemetery Road, south of Kalispell, off of U.S. 93 South.

The shelter is open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays, noon to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For further information, contact 752-1310; www.flathead.mt.gov/animal; or find the shelter on Facebook.
