Ex-candidate now backing Pierson
Since filing to run for Flathead County clerk and recorder, I have decided the timing is not right for me to pursue this elected position. I would like to publicly announce that I am no longer a candidate even though the ballots are printed and my name cannot be removed. I do not want any of our citizens to waste their vote.
I would also like to announce my support for Debbie Pierson, who is a candidate for the clerk and recorder position. Debbie has been a real asset in the county commissioners’ office for the past seven years. With her bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana and impressive 25-year professional career, Debbie is well prepared to lead a staff of 17, four departments and a $2.1 million budget.
I encourage those who would have supported me as a candidate to vote for Debbie Pierson. She will be an excellent steward of your tax dollars and is committed to providing the professional leadership needed to serve all the citizens of our great county as their clerk and recorder.
I hope all voters will be apprised of my decision and will be able to make their important vote count in the June 3 primary election.
