Absentee voting for the June 3 primary election began Monday in Flathead County.

Registered voters wanting to cast their ballots early via absentee ballot can complete applications through the county Election Department.

Applications can be downloaded at http://flathead.mt.gov/election. Applications must be made by noon the day before the election.

All voter registration and absentee ballot processing will be conducted at the Country Fair Kitchen building at the Flathead County Fairgrounds through June.

To contact the Election Department, call 758-5535, 758-5536 or 758-2422.

Early voting has become increasingly popular in Flathead County.

The June 3 primary includes county and state legislative races along with the Montana race for U.S. Senate and U.S. House seats.

The top vote-getters from each political party will proceed to the Nov. 4 general election.
