Funnel cloud spotted north of Whitefish

The National Weather Service in Missoula on Monday posted on Twitter a photograph of a partial funnel cloud that appeared during a thunderstorm north of Whitefish.
“Somebody sent a picture to us of a funnel that did appear,” meteorologist Mike Johnson said. “Dead center in the picture is what appears to be a funnel cloud that was associated with a thunderstorm that had hail.”
The photograph was snapped at around 1:30 p.m. Monday about three miles north of Whitefish, Johnson said.
The photograph was taken by Scott Miller and posted on Twitter.
The storm moved from Whitefish to Columbia Falls and then up the Canyon.
