Increase knowledge; seek out the truth

People perish for lack of knowledge. People suffer for lack of knowledge. Thus, the history of man marches on with never-ending proofs of the pudding.

Example: Our U.S. Constitution suffers for lack of knowledge (by design/self-destruct) as do families, individuals, voters, businesses, et al. When reinforced by a populace too busy and/or not interested, bingo! We become our own worst enemy; guaranteed self-destruction and only a matter of when.

So, should we get real and see that it isn’t as much what to believe as it is whom to believe. What’s the source of our information on which to form an opinion? Is it credible? This leads us to the self-destruction (essential perspective) that there are none so blind as those who won’t see; having been lied to, indoctrinated, deceived, conditioned to a normal/desirable and “don’t take me out of my comfort zone” trap.

Therefore, I want to say “hats off” and kudos to Tony Kimberlin and Clarice Ryan in their superb efforts to attack ignorance with their excellent information on the Opinion page. And similar thanks to the Daily Inter Lake for giving us Thomas Sowell’s brilliance and skill in providing evidence. Of course, human nature being a given, two locals in the past, who I can recall, tried to take Thomas to task, as a result of having been misled (lied to) by whichever combination of liberal extremists in their pursuit of power and control. Aha! Whom to believe?

Bottom line, the enemy wins by default, as people have good reasons (to them) why we, Joe Americana, stand by; watch, ignore, talk amongst ourselves, and don’t have the time or interest. Truth is very disconcerting and upsetting. It’s expensive to subscribe to stuff, let alone to which one? And to get involved requires a whole lot of self-denial.

Revisionist history is hugely successful in keeping self-denial and personal sacrifice — I pledge my honor, my fortune and my life — vitals of our Founding Fathers, away from public schools, which is another whole book in itself. As the beat goes on, we continue to see, when we wake up and pay attention, what happens when we “don’t know” — which also is by design. Zeesch!

But, you understand, ignorance is bliss, so don’t you dare go disturbing my false sense of peace and comfort zone.
