Frenchtown bites Bulldogs

WHITEFISH — Frenchtown’s Morgan Ray went 5 for 5 with nine RBIs in the Broncs’ 19-1 win over the Whitefish Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Ray drove in her nine runs with two base hits, a double and two home runs in an impressive Northwestern A road victory.

“Morgan is a spectacular ball player,” Whitefish head coach Carrie Lamb said.  “We were glad to not face her in the circle, but I think she knows she’s going to hit a homerun every time she steps in the box. She deserves all the credit.”

Keegan Wickman, who went 2 for 3, had a solo home run in the fourth inning for the Broncs.

Defensively, Frenchtown’s Laci Willet earned the win in the circle, as she struck out eight Bulldogs in her five innings of work.

The Bulldogs’ scored in fourth inning off the bat of Malia Morris, whose RBI single was the lone Whitefish run in a game shortened to five innings under the 10-run rule.

Abby Reese, Micah McFeely, Kenzie Carl and Georgia Donaldson also recorded hits for Whitefish.
