Thomas Neil Pelican, 57

Thomas Neil Pelican passed away April 25, 2014, at his home in Bigfork.

 He was born in San Francisco on Aug. 25, 1956, to Frank and Edythe Pelican.

Tom worked at Quakerdale group home in Manning, Iowa, for over 10 years and enjoyed cooking, teaching and making a difference in the lives of young teens.

In 2000, he went back to school to be a computer programmer.

In 2007, Tom and wife Theresa moved to Swan Lake to run a Ma and Pa shop of their own. The last few years of Tom's life were spent fishing, wood and leather working and riding his Harley. Oh, how he loved to ride!

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife, Theresa Pelican, of Bigfork; daughter, Nicole Pelican, of California; his son, Nicholas Pelican, and wife, Amanda, of Idaho; sister, Sheila Seale, and husband, Lod, of California, and brother, Frank Pelican, and wife, Carolyn, of Georgia.; in-laws, Terry and Nancy Ketterman, of Bigfork; as well as countless other family members and friends he met along the way.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Swan Lake and Lake Tahoe, Calif.
