Pierson has skills needed for the job

I have worked for many years with Debbie Pierson and have consistently found her to be professional, enviably organized and efficient. She is affable and a pleasure to work with, but also expects the highest level of performance from everyone on the team.

She identified and guided the county’s application to the National Park Service’s Rivers, Trails and Conservation assistance program that resulted in our current County Trails Plan. The Trail Plan guides and supports trail projects throughout the county and directly resulted in construction of the FVCC/Kidsports tunnel under U.S. 93. The plan also assures we will have a pedestrian trail through Bad Rock Canyon when it is rebuilt and a pedestrian path across the bridge at Hungry Horse and Sportsman’s Bridge at Bigfork.

Debbie managed the County’s successful $400,000 Forest Service grant application that created Foy’s Community Forest. This application was ranked third in the nation and resulted in a permanent teaching forest at Herron Park while allowing sustainable resource extraction. In addition she has guided numerous Recreational Trails Grants from Montana State Parks that have funded trail construction and land purchase at Herron Park. Our jobs as volunteers would be more difficult without her support and guidance.

Debbie is the successful professional she is today because of her organizational, time management and people skills. I support her bid to become our next clerk and recorder whole-heartedly and without reservation.
