Questions for candidate Zinke

Regarding Mr. Zinke’s politics, he claims to be a conservative candidate on the Republican ticket, but the easiest way for a fox to get into the hen house is to disguise himself as a chicken. I wonder if the true conservatives, whose support and contributions you solicit, know about your voting record.

A person’s or a candidate’s true political DNA is ultimately trumped by his or her social values or lack thereof. You say you are a fiscal conservative, a social moderate. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Moderate: a title used and worn by many candidates because it allows them to spin in all directions without revealing their true beliefs. You can dance whichever way the wind blows.

Mr. Zinke, I wonder which direction our state, our nation will head if you were a leader, a congressman. Maybe by vetting a little deeper into a candidate and those advising him or her we can answer the age-old question of what happens to a candidate when they leave home, our state, and arrive in D.C. Seemingly a transformation occurs. Example: Baucus-Tester have claimed to represent Montana but once in D.C. they vote against us — Obamacare. They know best what’s best for Montanans.

I wonder if Mr. Zinke would answer some questions that I have to help me decide which candidate I will support, who will get my vote. I realize I am just one vote but what if it were the deciding vote? I won’t ask questions that require yes or no answers. I won’t ask questions that take pages to answer, rather I will ask your answers to be right or wrong, no spin required, very simple.

1. Is our ever-increasing national debt right or wrong?

2. Is closing or securing our nation’s borders right or wrong?

3. Is a woman’s right to kill babies (abortion), whatever stage, right or wrong?

4. Is the ever-increasing power, authority of the EPA right or wrong?

5. Is gay marriage right or wrong?

6. Is Obama changing laws with his pen right or wrong?

Mr. Zinke, I understand you may wish to follow your right or wrong answer with a sentence or two, but please be brief. No spin. If you have to sell your soul to win, then you didn’t really win.

I would like to thank you for your service, your sacrifice to this nation. I come from a family of military servicemen — World War I, Korea, Persian Gulf — combat veterans some. It’s sad to hear them say our nation today is not the same one they fought for. The decay of our morals, the lack of personal accountability at home and in public. Our failure to stand up and correct what is wrong is this nation’s worst enemy.

I wonder, can or will you make a difference?
