An expansion project is underway at Three Rivers Bank on East Idaho Street in Kalispell.

“We decided to expand and remodel the bank,” said John King, the bank’s chief executive officer.

Construction is underway now on a parking lot to the north.

Work on a 5,100-square-foot addition to the existing building will start June 1, King said.

The addition will expand the building about 24 feet to the north, with a basement, a main level and an upper floor. Each floor of the existing building will be remodeled, drive-through lanes will be expanded from three to four, and entrance and exits to the property will be reconfigured.

“It’s very exciting,” King said.

The contractor on the $2.8 million project is Hammerquist Casalegno, the architect is CTA and all subcontractors are local, King said.

According to King, the project is expected to be completed by Jan. 1, 2015.
