Softball: Polson, Libby 4-0 at tourney

BUTTE — Polson wrapped up a successful weekend at the Butte Central Invitational softball tournament by blasting Billings Central 17-1 and Miles City 12-1 on Saturday.

The Pirates (17-4 overall) finished the two-day event with a 4-0 mark.

On Friday, Polson beat Havre 7-2 and clubbed Glendive 19-1.

“One of those weekends,” Polson coach Larry Smith said. “We exploded on everybody.”

Polson had five doubles and a home run by Jessica Bagnell against Billings Central. The Pirates totaled 17 hits in that outing.

Against Miles City, the Pirates had a double, a triple and 16 hits.

“Overall, (Kaelen) Wall’s bat was on fire this weekend,” Smith said.

“(Jaylin) Kenney has been a steady rock for us, very consistent.”

Bagnell and Wall both went 3 for 4 against Billings Central.

Kenney went 3 for 3 and Hannah Potter 3 for 4 versus Miles City.

Polson returns to Northwestern A play on Tuesday at Whitefish and concludes regular-season action on Friday at Libby.

Rachel Rebo went 2 for 3 for Libby in both games.

Devon Gallagher also had two hits for Libby in the finale.
