HELENA — The state Judicial Nomination Commission is accepting applications for the open position of Workers’ Compensation Court judge.
Judge Jim Shea recently resigned from the post to accept appointment to the Montana Supreme Court.
Qualified attorneys have until June 19 to apply for the position, which has an annual salary of $117,600.
The commission will review the applications, seek public comment and possibly interview candidates before forwarding the names of three to five candidates to the governor for appointment.
The governor’s appointee is subject to state Senate confirmation. If confirmed, the appointee will serve for the remainder of Shea’s term, which expires in September 2017.
