| May 22, 2014 9:56 AM

Stumptown Players is holding auditions June 1-2 for the summer production of “Rose’s Dilemma” by Neil Simon.

Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. in the Flathead Valley Community College Theater in the Arts & Technology Buildling. Please enter by the east door.

Roles to be cast are two men and two women, 20 years old and up.  Auditions will be cold readings from the script; it is not necessary to prepare an audition piece.

“Stumptown Players is excited to be bringing this hilarious and heart-warming Neil Simon production to Whitefish,” said Alicia Blake, a Stumptown Players founding member and board president.

Performances are set for July 17-20 and 24-26 in the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.

In her beach house in the Hamptons, celebrated writer Rose Stern stands at a crossroads — she hasn't written anything in years and money is getting short. Her former lover, the deceased literary lion Walsh McLaren, comes to her from beyond the grave and offers her an opportunity to regain her celebrity and gross millions. It's not going to be easy and a “ghost” writer is required, which sets in motion another touching and unpredictable romantic theatrical experience by America's premier Pulitzer Prize-winning comic playwright.

Copies of the play are available for review by calling the Stumptown Players at 871-6447.
