| May 22, 2014 9:55 AM

The Glacier High School Choral Department will present its final concert of the school year entitled “The 90’s and Now” on Tuesday, May 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Glacier High School Performance Hall. There is no admission charge.

The concert will open with all of the choirs singing “Pompeii,” a song by the English rock band Bastille.  “This song has great harmonies and will be a fun, energetic concert opener, “ choir director Sandee Sauer said.

The choir women will follow the opener with “Call Your Girlfriend” featuring rhythmic cups and a catchy melody.  The Glacier Girls’ Choir will continue the theme with a medley of “Fly/I Believe I Can Fly” as heard on the hit television program “Glee.”

The Glacier Echoes and Glacier Breeze will sing some classic jazz as well as current hits including “Happy” by Pharrell Williams and “Team” by Lorde. The Men’s choir and the Advanced Women’s Choir will entertain the audience with hits from the 1990’s such as “River of Dreams” by Billy Joel and “Only Hope” by Mandy Moore.

The Glacier Concert Choir will close the concert with 1990s and modern selections including “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton and “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence and the Machine. The graduating seniors will be featured in Queen’s hit “Under Pressure.”

This concert will also recognize students who participated in the district and state music festivals, as well as those who will be receiving a varsity letter in choral music. The Director’s Award and the National School Choral Awards will be presented to four outstanding seniors who have contributed to the success of Glacier High School’s choral program.
