| May 22, 2014 9:51 AM

The Museum at Central School in Kalispell features a free screening of the 1964 film “The Night of the Iguana" starring Richard Burton and Ava Gardner, as part of the continuing monthly film club open to all on May 27 at 7 p.m.

Working as a tour guide in Mexico, the defrocked alcoholic Rev. Shannon (Richard Burton) steers a group of visiting American teachers to Maxine Faulk’s (Ava Gardner) rundown hotel, where he soon becomes entangled in relationships with three very different women.

Based on the Tennessee Williams play, this drama from John Huston received several Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations, winning the Oscar for best costume design. It also stars Deborah Kerr and Sue Lyon.

Run time is almost two hours; this film is not rated.

Anyone may attend and there is no charge. Donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of acquiring and showing the films. The movie and popcorn are free, and wine, beer, pop and water will be for sale.

Seating is provided, but people can also bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs, or whatever is comfortable for viewing the film.

The Museum at Central School is located at 124 Second Ave E. in Kalispell.  Call 756-8381 for more information.
