Bigfork girls 2nd, boys 3rd at Western B divisional track

MISSOULA — Bigfork’s Logan Morley won the 800 (2:06.44) and 3,200 (10:30.03) on Friday to account for 20 of the Vikings’ 32 points at the Western B divisional boys track meet.

Bigfork is sitting third in the team standings behind Thompson Falls, 45, and Loyola Sacred Heart, 34.

Troy, 32, is fourth and Eureka, 25, fifth.

Eureka had three individuals place in the pole vault, led by winner Tristan Lihme (13-0). Mason Haidle tied for second (12-6) and Cole Jankovsky was fourth (12-0).

In girls competition, Bigfork’s Emily Cheroske posted the best time in the 400 (58.82) and Makena Morley won the 1,600 (4:50.19) with a new divisional record. Morley held the old record of 4:59.50 set last year.

Eureka’s Emily Billow won the shot put (38-5 1/4) and the Lions placed second in the 400 relay.

Plains leads the team standings with 46 points. Bigfork, 30, is second, Ronan, 29, third, Thompson Falls, 26, fourth, and Eureka, 22, fifth.

The divisional winds up today.

The top six finishers in all events advance to the state meet.
