A Kalispell man has pleaded guilty to felony attempted burglary for trying to break into a gun store.

Anton Golovko, 25, entered the plea May 16 in Flathead District Court.

Golovko was caught by Flathead County deputies early Dec. 27, 2013, when they followed boot tracks leading from the extensively damaged back door to Frontier Guns and Ammo.

Golovko admitted he tried to break into the business with the plan to steal something.

Golovko was previously given a six-year deferred sentence in May 2007 for a felony burglary conviction.

Deputy Flathead County Attorney Alison Howard will recommend a sentence of five years to the Montana Department of Corrections, all suspended, when Golovko is sentenced on July 10.
