Laptop appears; good karma or wrong car?
Someone entered a car illegally Monday, but apparently there was no theft. Instead, in a reversal comparable to the fabled “man bites dog” story, the Whitefish Police Department was told by a woman that a laptop computer had actually been LEFT in her car as she was visiting a park on Baker Avenue. She turned the laptop in at the police station. No word on whether her karma is always that good.
A man contacted the Kalispell Police Department to complain he had been hospitalized with sepsis due to bad medical advice from a doctor and wanted to pursue charges because he believed it was done maliciously. An officer did not believe it was a criminal issue, but told the man he could consider a malpractice complaint.
Graffiti was reported on a Corporate Drive property, a Fifth Avenue East garage, and a sidewalk on Cooper Lane, where garbage was also strewn about. The graffiti was inappropriate enough for an officer to contact the public works department to get it cleaned up as quickly as possible.
An officer counseled a pair of people on Third Street West after one threatened the other with a Taser over alleged misappropriation of furniture by a landlord.
A man was arrested for drunk driving after rolling his truck onto its side at the intersection of Glenwood Drive and U.S. 2 West.
A pair of 10-year-olds were turned over to their parents after being caught running down Third Avenue East North at about 12:30 a.m.
A North Main Street man called police after an arrow was shot into his yard, leading to a 10-year-old child being counseled.

At about 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, a woman contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after seeing a naked man go into Flathead Lake near her home on Pavilion Hill Avenue in the Somers area. She thought he might be suicidal, but after being contacted by a deputy, the man said he just wanted to go for a swim.
A man reported someone got in his car and drove it into a field off U.S. 2 the night before. The man said he found the car in the field, undamaged and still running.
A person calling from Stoner Loop in Lakeside reported that a vehicle was broken into and a wallet and fishing vest were stolen.
A man calling from Bigfork Stage Road said he had a confrontation with a man with orange hair who admitted that he was high on LSD.
A man asked for assistance in removing people sleeping behind a church off U.S. 2 in Evergreen.
A woman reported the theft of a handgun and other items from her home on East Evergreen Drive.

A man calling from Third Street West in Hungry Horse reported that a neighbor came on to the reporting party’s property and broke a mirror off his vehicle after the two had been in an argument. The neighbor denied responsibility.
A person having a garage sale on First Avenue South in Hungry Horse reported that a juvenile male who lives down the street walked away with a necklace.
There was a report of several men vandalizing a smoking hut at a casino on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.
A man contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department on Monday after finding a young teenager sleeping in a ditch off the North Fork Road. The teen seemed to be intoxicated and it appeared that he had been beat up.
