A snowplow crew in Glacier National Park was working Thursday on Going-to-the-Sun Road in the area of the Rimrock, just below Oberlin Bend and Logan Pass.

An east-side crew continues to work in the area of Siyeh Bend about two miles east of Logan Pass.

Visitors can drive about 15 miles from the park’s west entrance to the vehicle gate at Avalanche. From there, hikers and bikers can travel as far as the Loop while snowplowing operations are underway during weekdays.

On weekends there are no hiker-biker restrictions on the west side of the park.

On the east side, there is no hiker-biker access due to construction on Sun Road.

Elsewhere in the park, the Quarter Circle Bridge Road near Apgar has been closed due to flooding. The closure effects the Apgar Lookout Trail, the Old Flathead Ranger Station trail and boating on Lower McDonald Creek.

The opening date for the Two Medicine Campground has been delayed until June 6 because several feet of snow still are covering the campground.

The Many Glacier Campground is scheduled to open today, but with no water and only pit toilets available until later this weekend. The St. Mary Campground is open with services.
