Max Ernest Ganz Jr., 83

Max Ernest Ganz Jr., 83, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Lakeview Care Center in Bigfork.

He was born July 6, 1930, in Little Falls, Minn., to Max and Ernestine Ganz. He was the eighth of their 17 children.

On Sept. 4, 1954, Max married Betty McGuire and they had four children. Max also served in the Army during the Korean War. Max worked as a lineman for the electric company prior to leaving Minnesota. In June of 1967, he moved his family to the Flathead Valley in Montana where he worked for Sears and then Glacier National Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 12 of his siblings.  

He is survived by his four children, Renea Jorgensen and husband Dale, Scott Ganz and wife Alice, and Gregg Ganz and wife Tammy, all of Bigfork, and Cindy Anderson and husband Steve of Anchorage, Alaska; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers; one sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life and potluck will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, at the Rocky Mountain Road House in Bigfork.
