Teenager flees knife-wielding man

A teenage boy called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Thursday to say that when he was looking for a runaway friend in the area of the Ashley Creek bridge on the Kalispell bypass, he came across two tents. A scraggly looking man came out of one of the tents, brandished a 12-inch brass-knuckle knife and threatened to kill the boy, who immediately left the area.

A woman said that she had a cellphone stolen about a year ago and someone recently reactivated the phone in her name.

A construction contractor reported the theft of batteries from a location on U.S. 93 South.

A woman showed up at the Sheriff’s Office to report that she was beat up by two people at a location on Poplar Drive a couple of days ago.

A woman calling from an Airport Road residence said that her teenage son stole items from her garage and sold them for recycling. She said her son has also threatened her.

A man was arrested on Kila Road after his girlfriend said that he dragged her out of a vehicle and threw her to the ground.

There was a report of a disturbance involving two intoxicated men on East Oregon Street.


Kalispell Police got a report Thursday from a desk clerk at a hotel on U.S. 93 South who said guests had complained about a neighboring guest standing naked in the doorway of his room. When the man was contacted, he was wearing light khaki shorts and he denied the incident.

A woman who attempted to get prescription drugs with what appeared to be a fraudulent prescription was pulled over near a Main Street pharmacy and taken to the police station for an interview.

There was a report of a house being shot with a BB gun on Fifth Avenue East.

Someone reported that unknown people have been using the reporting party’s credit card at an adult entertainment center.

A Seventh Avenue East North resident said neighbors have people living in a camper, and the reporting party believes the campers have been dumping raw sewage in the back yard.

A person calling from a business on First Street West said that a man was pounding on the front window of the business and then he dropped his pants, exposing himself to the reporting party and a client, who then locked themselves inside.

Friday morning, there was a report of a man exposing himself to a woman at a gym on First Avenue West.


Whitefish Police got a report Thursday about someone driving a vehicle onto the golf course on U.S. 93 West, causing “quite a bit of damage.”

A decorative bird feeder was stolen from in front of a business on Baker Avenue.
