Horses reported on the loose

The Kalispell Police Department received a report of four to five horses on the loose between the Foy’s Lake and Airport Road roundabouts on the U.S. 93 bypass.

An irate driver reported criminal mischief on Fifth Avenue West North after a man threw a glass bottle at a car.

A man on First Avenue East said a woman panhandler with an attitude was being verbally aggressive when he told her loitering wasn’t allowed in the area.

A fed-up woman calling from Third Avenue East wanted a recreational vehicle moved that had been parked in front of her residence for more than a week and was plugged into a neighbor’s house down the street.

A woman received medical attention for a cut on the head and potential concussion after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 93 North and North Meridian Road.

Bank fraud on a business checking account was reported by someone on North Main Street and East Idaho Street who said they had three fraudulent checks “hit their account.”

Someone at a First Avenue West inn said a man had been acting “very strangely lately.” Police checked up on the man at a bus stop and said he seemed healthy. The man said he was going to another town.

A person on Fourth Avenue West North discovered a stolen item at a pawn shop.


The Columbia Falls Police Department followed up with a person at a Ninth Street West business who claimed to have video footage of a man with sticky fingers slipping his hands into a tip jar twice and taking money.

A woman on 13th Street West received a suspicious call from a woman named Julie who claimed to be from the IRS and told her, “Do not ignore the call or they would take action.”


A perplexed woman on Railway Street called the Whitefish Police Department to report that her 1997 green Honda Civic was missing from a parking lot.

An inebriated man harassed a waitress, cussing at her, at a U.S. 93 South establishment. Staffers made a futile attempt to keep the man from leaving. He left with a woman driver who reportedly drank a couple of beers.

Extra patrol was provided in a school zone on Spokane Avenue during school hours.
