Snow may finally hit Sunday night
A Canadian cold front is predicted to blast into Northwest Montana Sunday evening, bringing cold air, snow and wind.
Mountains along the Continental Divide may get from 6 to 14 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service, while some valleys may get 2 to 6 inches of snow.
A winter storm watch is in effect for the mountains. Gusty winds of 15 to 30 mph are expected to reduce visibility for travelers, particularly on U.S. 2 from Hungry Horse to Marias Pass.
In the Flathead Valley, rain showers on Sunday are expected to turn to snow Sunday night with 1 to 3 inches of snow forecast.
There’s a slight chance of snow showers in the valley Monday and Tuesday.
West Glacier should receive 3 to 5 inches of snow Sunday night.
