Flathead takes second, Glacier third in speech tournament

The Class AA Speech and Debate rivalry between Bozeman High School and the Kalispell schools was raised anew this weekend as the Hawks took first place with 244 points at the Hawker Invitational in Bozeman.

Flathead High School finished almost 100 points behind in second place with 158.5 and Glacier rounded out the top three with 91 points.

Flathead Head Coach Shannon O’Donnell gave kudos to the very strong Bozeman team.

“Bozeman has a tremendous program which is tough every weekend,” O’Donnell said. “But beating them at home is especially challenging. We had great performances from so many events, but our kids know they have a lot of work to do if we are going to catch Bozeman.”

Flathead will next compete Dec. 5 at the Helena Electric City Invitation and the Carroll College Tournament of Champions.
