Police take calls about stolen cars
A Spokane Avenue resident called the Whitefish Police Department and said his Subaru had been stolen out of his driveway. He had left the keys in the vehicle and the car was stolen between 9 and 11 a.m.
A Baker Avenue resident called police reporting a man “doing laps” in her neighborhood. She said he looked wobbly and wondered if he needed some help.
A woman went into a bar on Central Avenue to use the bathroom, and when she came out her vehicle, a silver Toyota 4Runner, was gone. She said her wallet and identification were in the backseat of the car.
A woman on East Fourth Street was concerned about a friend who sounded very faint on the phone. When officers contacted the man, all the facts they had been told about him were found to be incorrect.
A woman on First Avenue West called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a man who was going around the neighborhood taking photos. She told him to leave or she would call the police. He said he was a photographer and just doing his job, but she said he only had a “point and shoot” camera so she didn’t believe him.
A caller on 11th Street West was getting ready for work in the morning when she looked out her window and saw a man sleeping in a field. Officers spoke to the man, who had several warrants for his arrest from various law enforcement agencies.
