Quake intruded but not through door
A concerned woman called the Kalispell Police Department shortly after midnight Friday to say she thought someone tried to break into her home. It turns out the rattling door likely was caused by the earthquake that rocked the Flathead Valley.
A group of people were “hollering and screaming” near a downtown store. Although the disturbance went on for 15 minutes, it eventually quieted down.
People were reported running through the North Haven Drive neighborhood and rummaging through vehicles.
A woman complained that her estranged husband had forged her name on checks and she just discovered $30,000 in student loans on which her ex had reportedly forged her name.
A man was arrested on a warrant after a crash into a parked vehicle on Second Avenue East North in Kalispell.
Kalispell officers deployed fire extinguishers when a pickup truck driving on Third Avenue East caught fire while it was moving Friday night.

A customer at a Central Avenue bar was accused of “possibly putting things in drinks” but the Whitefish Police Department determined the accusation was unfounded.
A woman on Wisconsin Avenue said her front door window had been smashed in and a big rock on the porch had been moved.
