Three-legged dog picked up

An animal lover called the Whitefish Police Department after spotting a three-legged dog which “looks lost.” The limb-challenged pup, a golden retriever, was located and taken out of the cold by animal control.

A man on West Third Street was sick of his messy neighbors leaving their garbage out in the street. He said it was an ongoing issue. A police officer went to inform the trashy neighbors what the city garbage ordinances were.


A resident of Darlene Road called the Columbia Falls Police Department to complain about an inconsiderate neighbor who had big parties and blocked up the street. The caller said it had happened many times before and she had even called tow trucks to get rid of vehicles on her lawn. She was worried it was a traffic hazard.

A man on Seventh Street West called the police because his wife was “freaking out” with a loaded gun. He got his kids out of the house before calling. Officers contacted the woman over the phone, who seemed calm and insisted the gun was unloaded and locked in a gun safe.

A man in Minnesota called the police to report a Columbia Falls woman would not give the man his truck back. He was in possession of the title proving it was his, but wanted to go through police to expedite the situation.

A woman was making threatening texts to a Wildcat Drive woman. The caller said it had been happening for several days, and now the threatener’s mother was involved, claiming she would kill the victim with “slow torture.”


The Bad Rock Fire Department took a call at 9:47 p.m. about an explosion on Columbia Falls Stage Road.
