Evergreen highway project winding down

Traffic restrictions on U.S. 2 through Evergreen should be lifted this week.

According to Bob Vosen, Montana Department of Transportation district construction engineer, the goal is to have the construction that began in mid-August wrapped up for the winter on Friday.

While the forecast looks good for road work to continue this week, “we are definitely weather-dependent at this time of year,” Vosen said.

The highway was to be restored to two-lane traffic on Monday night, but Vosen said drivers should expect intermittent restrictions as crews work on median curbs and patching the trenches that were used to install new storm drains.
