Assaulted on bus? Just by the noise

A worried Kalispell area woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon because her daughter called her and she could hear yelling in the background. The woman thought that her daughter was being assaulted, but the girl was actually riding the bus home from school, and the yelling she heard in the background was the other schoolchildren doing what schoolchildren do.

A man called around 4 a.m. Wednesday because he could hear a vehicle driving down Beach Road in Bigfork, and he didn’t think they should be driving at that time of night.

A string of burglaries have been reported in recent weeks, most involving storage units where a lock was cut off, the storage unit was burglarized, and the lock was replaced with a new one. Many people have also reported that their cars have been broken into and rifled through.

A Somers woman called police Tuesday morning after a red Jeep was seen speeding down Sunnybrook Lane and nearly hit a child walking to school.

A dog has reportedly been living in a vehicle in a hotel parking lot in Columbia Falls because his owner, who stays in the hotel, cannot afford to pay the pet fee.

A caller reported that he overheard a Kalispell man bragging about growing marijuana in his garage. The caller was concerned because there are two young children that live with the “botanist.”

A single gunshot was reportedly heard in the Daley Lane area of Kalispell on Tuesday.

A report of a man hitchhiking while naked came in around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Luckily for all involved, it turned out he was just shirtless and did have pants on.

A Marion citizen reported hearing three rounds of gunshots Tuesday evening.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on criminal contempt charges after someone was caught stealing at a grocery store on Tuesday.

Columbia Falls Police received a report on Tuesday of a man who repeatedly breaks in to the bathrooms at a Nucleus Avenue location.

A woman reported that she was being stalked by another woman.

Kalispell Police responded to a disturbance on Rosewood Drive on Tuesday because a couple were yelling at each other and banging things around. When officers arrived, the couple invited them inside. Apparently they forgot to put their marijuana away before the cops entered, because it was in plain view and the man was ticketed for drug possession.

A drunk and disorderly man had to be removed from a Sunny View Lane location Tuesday.

A woman in a camouflage jacket and baggy black sweat pants was caught stealing from a Third Avenue East North business Tuesday night.

A transient man was found passed out in a stairwell. He was snoring, but the caller was unable to wake him up.

A laptop was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Hawthorn Avenue sometime Tuesday night.
