Man charged with killing wife
CHARLO (AP) — A Lake County man who reported his wife committed suicide has been charged with shooting and killing her.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Karen Sargeant said officers arrested 32-year-old Adrian M. McElderry on suspicion of deliberate homicide late Tuesday.
McElderry called 911 shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday and stated his wife had shot herself. Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin said an investigation determined McElderry’s statements did not match the evidence in the death of 29-year-old RaeLynn M. Charlo.
McElderry was taken into custody and held in the Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribal jail, but was transferred to the Lake County jail in Polson after the charges were filed. He was being held without bond pending his arraignment.
