Ronald C. Holden, 63
Ronald C. Holden, 63, “went to be with the Lord” on Nov. 17, 2014, at his home in Trego.
Ron was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
Ron loved aviation. He received his pilot’s license at age 17 and at the time was the youngest pilot in the state of Montana. He built an aircraft that he logged countless hours in the backcountry and over the Flathead Valley.
Ron was a graduate of Flathead High School in 1969.
Ron was a very talented mechanic, welder and outdoorsman. During his life he worked for John Jump hauling logs and the Montana Highway Department plowing snow. Ron spent time in his favorite state of Alaska working on fishing boats and on Long Island, N.Y., driving heavy equipment. When he returned to Montana he started his own logging company and did contract work on forest fires.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing stock cars.
Ron Holden was a dreamer. He dreamed of building another aircraft, sailing to Alaska and packing into the Bob Marshall Wilderness with his sons.
Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis; and parents, Bud and Dorothy Holden.
Ron is survived by his wife, Rosemary; son, Christopher, and his wife, Tausha, and their children, Siarah and Parker; son, Eric, and his wife, Brittney, and their son, Bryson; and daughter, Jennifer; family in Colorado and Oregon and his church family in the Tobacco Valley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at Fortine Community Church.
