Marie Landsberger, 92
Marie Landsberger, 92, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Nov. 15, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
Marie was born February 1922 to Anton and Anna Ereth in Solen, N.D. She was the oldest girl of 11 children. After graduating from business college, she worked at the Bank of North Dakota, leaving to work for the Naval Department in Seattle during World War II.
Marie married Leo Landsberger on Oct. 14, 1947. The couple farmed near Hazelton, N.D., until 1964, when they moved first to Bismarck, N.D., and eventually to Kalispell. After the loss of her husband in 1978, Marie moved to be near her children, residing in Phoenix, Post Falls, Idaho, Columbus, Mont., and finally Billings.
She spent the majority of her life taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was devoted to her faith and will always be remembered for her generous and loving heart. She was spunky, independent and fun loving. She enjoyed going for walks, gardening and playing cards. Her sense of humor and quick repartee was appreciated by friends and strangers alike — she was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Debra Parod, David Landsberger and Renee Burgess; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her sister Bernice Shaw.
A Requiem Mass will be offered for Marie at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Immaculate Conception Chapel, Kalispell.
