Clerk's complaints unfounded

| November 23, 2014 9:00 PM

A business on U.S. 93 called the Whitefish Police Department reporting a man who was wanted for writing bad checks had just been in the business. Officers ran a scan of the man’s history with the police. He had a traffic ticket in Kalispell, but otherwise the clerk’s complaints were unfounded.

A Wisconsin Avenue ex-couple called police after the man attempted to take the woman’s child away from her. She said her son, 9-years old, had his mind “poisoned” against her. They were advised to get a parenting plan.

A West Third Street man said his ex-military brother was coming to hurt him. He had put a knife to the caller’s throat in the past and left him a voicemail saying, “if you’re not going to talk to me, you’re going to be in pain.” Officers said they would do extra patrols and talk to the man if he got there.

A man came into the Columbia Falls Police station to report his daughter’s ex-boyfriend had assaulted her. The man reportedly punched her vehicle.

A caller on Eighth Avenue East North called about their neighbor coming into their home and assaulting their son. The caller didn’t know why he barged in, but her son wasn’t hurt. Police were asked to come remove everyone from the residence.

The Smith Valley Fire Department took a call about a structure fire on North Ashley Lake Road at 6:08 a.m.
